Good morning West Salisbury families, this is your child’s principal Mr. Binns. This message is to remind you that today, Tuesday, November 7, 2023 is the end of the first marking period and that the students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m. today. All parents are reminded to pick your child up at 12:15 at school or meet your child at the bus stop for the expectation of a 12:15 bus dismissal. Thank you for your attention to this important message. Tigers let me hear you roar. ROAR!!!

Congratulations to last week's Attendance Tigers! These classes achieved the highest attendance rates per grade level, and we applaud their dedication. Well done!
Additionally, a big congratulations to Mrs. Krull's class for receiving the highest attendance percentage in October. These students will be rewarded with tokens from the book vending machine – a fantastic way to incentivize and celebrate their commitment to attendance. Way to go!
We'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone about the importance of attendance. Regular attendance is crucial for your child's education. Even being just 5 minutes late every day results in missing 3.4 days of instruction. If lateness extends to 15 minutes daily, it amounts to missing 10.3 days, and a 30-minute delay daily leads to a staggering 20.7 days of missed instruction. To put it in perspective, if your child misses 2 school days a month, they miss 20 days a year, translating to a loss of 30 hours of math instruction and 60 hours of reading and writing instruction. Every absence and tardiness adds up, affecting your child's learning.
We emphasize this because your child's education is invaluable. Our Tiger Cubs deserve the best, and that begins with consistent attendance. Your efforts to ensure they attend school on time are deeply appreciated. Together, let's provide them with the outstanding education they deserve. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our students' success.

Friendly Reminder: Tuesday, November 7th is an Early Dismissal Day. Students will be released from school at 12:15 pm. Kindly ensure that you are punctual when picking up your student either from the car rider line or at the bus stop.

Reminder for students and families: Tuesday, Nov. 7 is the last day of the 1st marking term. Students will be dismissed 3 hours early. Report cards will come out on Nov. 14.

Good evening West Salisbury families this is your child’s principal Mr. Binns. I have three very short messages. First, The school nurse has started hearing and vision screenings. All students in grades PK, K, and 1st will be screened for hearing and vision. If your child comes home with a referral letter, it suggests that your student should be evaluated by an eye doctor. This is a free exam mandated by the state and you do not need to do anything for your child to be screened. Please take the screening seriously. Second, parents and staff, we are selling West Salisbury Gear for our students. Your child can have the same orange t-shirt that our staff wears when we represent West Salisbury. Please complete your t-shirt order form, make sure you have the name on the form along with the money and how many shirts, long sleeve or hoodies you want. We need a total of at least 36 orders to meet our goal. I am getting 3 shirts. I am getting a t-shirt, a long sleeve shirt, and a hoodie, don’t miss out get your order in today. The last day to turn your order in is Wednesday, November 15th . Finally, parents attendance is important, in an attempt to improve our attendance we are asking that you please have your child to school every day and on time, if they are absent please write a note and or bring the doctor’s note so they can be excused. Your child’s education is important. Thank you so much and have a great evening. Tigers let me hear you roar. ROAR!!!
