Mr. Kimandi Binns, known to many as "Kimmy," was born and raised in Bermuda. He received a full athletic scholarship to play soccer at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where he received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees in Special Education. Mr. Binns taught for five years at the elementary level in Bermuda, and spent 12 years as a Special Education teacher at Mardela Middle and High School. While there he was the head coach for boys soccer for five years, and an assistant coach in basketball for two years. He served on various committees while working at MMHS. Mr. Binns started his administrative career at James M. Bennett High by serving as the Dean of Students before becoming an assistant principal and administrator of athletics. Mr. Binns joined West Salisbury Elementary as assistant principal in the winter of November 2020. He is a sports enthusiast and was inducted into the UMES Hall of Fame for soccer. Mr. Binns is married to Twynette Binns, who is also an assistant principal in Wicomico County, and they have two daughters, one son, and three granddaughters.
