Blazing a Trail for Literacy! 🚒📚
The Salisbury Fire Department and West Salisbury Elementary School teamed up to encourage our young readers to build strong reading habits by reading 20 minutes each day—and our students rose to the challenge!
Our 2nd grade students participated in a 30-day reading challenge, and we are so proud of their dedication and hard work. Congratulations to our top readers:
🥇 1st Place – Jayson A. with an incredible 1,305 minutes
🥈 2nd Place – Brave G. with 980 minutes
🥉 3rd Place – Sandaleen K. with 960 minutes
A special congratulations to Jayson, who earned the exciting “Fire Chief for the Day” prize as part of the Blazing a Trail for Literacy program! 🚒

Students who did not receive a school or bus referral earned the opportunity to participate in our March Madness basketball playoff at West Salisbury! It was a fun and exciting way to celebrate positive behavior and good choices.

🎉 SUPER SPECIAL STATIONS – MARCH EDITION 🎉
Our students had an amazing time at our Super Special Stations this month! Our special area teachers created a fun, interactive experience in the gym where students rotated through different stations during their specials.

NASA’s 21st century Artemis program, named after the Greek moon Goddess and twin of Apollo, is the next step in our mission to explore the universe and land the first woman and person of color on the surface of the Moon. This show is produced by Fiske Planetarium in collaboration with TEND Studio. Run time is 22 minutes. Suitable for age 8 and up.
