A FRESH START for a Great School Year! The annual “Fresh Start: A Wicomico County Back-to-School Event” is returning on Sunday, August 23rd at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This is for Wicomico County students in-need from kindergarten to Grade 12. ​Students will receive a Free backpack along with several essential school supplies. A child must be present with an adult to receive school supplies.

The next monthly meeting of the Wicomico County Board of Education is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in the Board of Education Auditorium at 101 Long Ave., Salisbury.

For this Board meeting, the Board will convene at 1 p.m. and immediately vote to go into closed session. The open portion of the meeting will begin at about 1:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is available at https://wicomico-schools.community.highbond.com/Portal/

To register for public comments, please visit the pre-registration page (https://board_public_comments.wicomicoschools.org/), which is open from August 3 - 10. Anyone unable to pre-register online may visit the school system office at 2424 Northgate Drive during business hours to fill out a paper copy of the pre-registration form.

This meeting will be livestreamed on the Watch Board Meetings page of the school system's website - www.wicomicoschools.org

The Wicomico County Board of Education will hold a special meeting and work session on Tuesday, June 30. Following the call to order at 8:30 a.m. and a closed session, the Board will meet in open session starting at approximately 9:15 a.m. On the agenda for the open session of this special meeting:

• Approval of the Student Member of the Board
• Adoption of the amended current expense budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027
• Approval of Pre-Qualified Real Estate Brokers

🌟 April & May Incredible Kids 🌟

We don't want to miss the opportunity to recognize our April and May Ripley’s Incredible Kid Award recipients! These students were nominated by their teachers for demonstrating outstanding behavior, positive attitudes, strong work ethic, and for being excellent role models every day.

Each recipient received a certificate admitting their entire family to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Ocean City. Due to the certificates arriving during the final week of school, not all students are pictured, but we are proud to celebrate their achievement and well-deserved recognition. On our last day of school, teachers showed off their creative last-day shirts and displayed plenty of school spirit as students headed home for the final time in the 2025-2026 school year. Our Watch D.O.G.S. also helped us say goodbye to our car riders and celebrate the last day of school, making it a memorable sendoff for everyone.
