






This is a school status announcement for Wednesday, February 25th: Wicomico County Public Schools will have a 90-minute delay on Wednesday. Breakfast will not be served. Schools may provide specific information about the day’s schedule.

Shoutout to our amazing Jump-Rope Super Stars who crushed 100 consecutive jumps and earned their spot in the 100 Jump Club! 💪
And a big round of applause for our lightning-fast student who made it into the Cup Stacking Sub-5 Second Club — stacking with speed and precision in under 5 seconds! ⚡
We are so proud of their focus, perseverance, and hard work. Keep jumping, stacking, and shining! ⭐👏


Please note that this will use the final make-up day built into the approved school calendar. After this closure, Wicomico Schools will be ready to transition to a virtual instruction day the next time conditions necessitate the closure of school buildings.
Meeting date change: The Wicomico County Board of Education special meeting and work session has been moved from Tuesday morning to Thursday, Feb. 26 at 8:30 a.m.

We will also have special guest readers from our community visiting classrooms throughout the week to share their love of reading with our students. ❤️📖

Students will learn how to keep their hearts, bodies, and brains healthy while helping kids with special hearts live longer, healthier lives. It’s a fun way to build healthy habits and spread kindness!

We are proud to recognize our 336 students who achieved perfect or outstanding attendance this semester! Each student went home with a small sweet treat to celebrate their hard work and commitment.
Starting in March, PreK students will also be included in our attendance incentives based on February attendance, continuing our focus on encouraging every learner to be present and engaged.

West Salisbury Elementary is proud to partner with the Salisbury Fire Department for our Blazing a Trail for Literacy initiative!
This special partnership is designed to inspire our students to read at least 20 minutes every day. Our local firefighters are passionate about supporting young readers and helping them build the skills they need to reach their goals and succeed in life.
Our second grade students are encouraged to read for 20 minutes each night at home and track their minutes on their reading calendar. The top three students with the most reading minutes will win an exciting prize! 🎉🔥
