The United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore and Parkside CTE — one community, two legacies. We are grateful to Pam Gregory from UWLES for visiting the RAMFAM today and sharing how the United Way continues to impact lives across our region, and how deeply they value the commitment of Parkside CTE. Our Parkside CTE staff remain steadfast in supporting and partnering with the United Way to strengthen and uplift our community, today and for the future. 💚🤍🐏🤍💚

Parkside Seniors... do you need a senior portrait (either for the yearbook or to give family)? If so, Lifetouch will be at Parkside on September 26th to take senior portraits. You do NOT have to use Lifetouch for senior portraits. There are plenty of local photographers who can do an outstanding job. This is a nice option because they will be right here at school, and no transportation is needed. See flyer for all the information you need. 💚🤍🐏🎓🐏🤍💚

Wicomico County Public Schools successfully applied for a partnership with Soles4Souls through its 4EveryKid campaign. This campaign provides brand-new sneakers to students in need. Wicomico Schools received 250 pairs of sneakers and Bombas socks to distribute to identified students, based on available sizes.

At a distribution event held at East Salisbury Elementary this week for, 54 students from throughout Wicomico Schools received a new pair of sneakers for the school year, with able assistance from the team of Community School Coordinators.

The initial outreach was to families of students identified by pupil personnel workers as a family in transition. If there are still shoes and socks available when these students have been served, Wicomico’s Student & Family Services may provide shoes to other students and scholars who are in need.

Congratulations, Andre Carter, on being named as a 2025 inductee into the Salisbury University Athletics Hall of Fame! We here at Parkside were extremely fortunate to have Andre join us in 2023 as a physical education teacher, and he also now serves as our Parkside Girls Basketball coach. We even got lucky enough to have his amazing wife Addie join the RAMFAM as an art teacher! Congratulations, Coach Carter, on this remarkable achievement! We're so proud of you! Here is a write-up of Andre's phenomenal college career. Andre Carter One of the most explosive athletes to ever don a Salisbury football helmet, Carter was a star defensive back for a four-year Sea Gull class that won three consecutive Empire 8 titles (2011-13), played in three NCAA Tournaments (2010-12), advanced to the national quarterfinals in 2011, and brought home the 2013 ECAC South Atlantic Bowl trophy. A true ball hawk, he ranks second in SU history in career interceptions (16), INT return yards (394), and INT return touchdowns (3); he also maintains marks for single-season INT return average (73) and single-game INT return yards (90).   Carter is one of just 13 Sea Gulls to become an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) First-Team All-American (2013) and was the program's most recent first-teamer until Tre Price (2024). He was recognized by D3football.com as an All-Region defender three times (2011-13) and a First-Team All-American in 2013. Carter made the All-Empire 8 First Team on three occasions (2011-13) and earned 2013 Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year accolades.
